Patrick and Nancy came to the United States between 1843 and 1854. Ireland's Potato Famine was 1846-1852.

Patrick was 82 years old when he died.

Patrick Ryan's will was noted in the area newspaper, "The will of Patrick Ryan, late of Jefferson township, was recorded Saturday. Nancy Ryan, his wife, gets the farm in Jefferson township, 10 acres; John Ryan, a son, the household goods and all chattels. After the death of the widow, the farm groes to John. Patrick Ryan, another son, get $1, he having received his share of the inheritance before. For the same reason, Mary Ryan, a daughter-in-law, receives also only $1." [Fort Wayne Weekly Gazette, Thursday 26 June 1890, p. 4]

Nancy was 83 years old when she died.

Nancy's obituary reads, "OTHER DEATHS. Tuesday evening occurred the death of Mrs. Nancy A. Ryan, one of Jefferson township's pioneer citizens, at the home of her son, John Ryan. She was born in Tipperary, Ireland, eighty-three and a half years ago and has lived in Jefferson township for forty-two years. Her husband, Patrick Ryan, died in 1884. Two sons, Patrick, of Gar Creek, and John, of Jefferson township, and one daughter, Mrs. Finan, of Payne, O., survive her. The funeral was held Wednesday at Besancon." [Fort Wayne News, Saturday 20 Nov 1897, pg. 1]

They are both buried in the Besancon Cemetery at St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
