Nolan and Rose Marie had four children, two sons and two daughters. Rose Marie's obituary reads, "ROSE MARIE GERARDOT, 64, died Monday morning at home. Born in Hartford City, Mrs. Gerardot lived in Fort Wyane for past 20 years. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Nolan; two daughters...; three sons...; two sisters, Janet E. Kile of Ringgold, Ga., and Helen Sanders of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, the Rev. Leo A. Piguet of Carmel, and Thomas Piguet of Hartford City; and 13 grandchildren. Services are pending at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 U.S. 30 East, New Haven. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Besancon." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Tuesday 2 January 1990, pg. 2C] Nolan's obituary reads, "NOLAN P. GERARDOT, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away at home with his family at his side on Sunday, April 3, 2005. He was born in Jefferson Twp., Allen Co., and was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. Nolan was a life-long farmr and retired in 1984 as plant manager for Sohigro after 28 years. He is survived by his children...; brother, Merlin Gerardot of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Rose Marie (nee Peguet) in 1990; sister Lillian Barclay; and brothers, Leonard, Andrew, Ambrose J. and Ambrose II. Prayer services are 9:15 a.m., Thursday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy., 930 E., New Haven, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Louis-Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy. E., New Haven. Co-celebrants will be Father Thomas Shoemaker and Father Stephen Colchin. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with evening vigil at 7:30 p.m. Burial at the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Masses or Parkvie Home Health and Hospice."
