  3. See comments on Family:Nathaniel Gary and Mary Allen (1), the supposed marriage of Nathaniel's son to Mary's daughter, both of the same name at the time of their marriage as their parents would have been. Besides the confusion over which couple this record applies to (Nathaniel Sr.'s wife died just 2 months earlier, Mary Jr. was not even 15), the children attributed to the younger couple are recorded under Nathaniel and Sarah, raising doubts on the traditional secondary presentations. It appears that neither Eunice nor Abigail were named in Nathaniel Sr.'s will, suggesting those two children, assigned to this marriage, might actually be the real children of his son, while the Ashford children belong elsewhere? More research, or at least more evidence, is needed.
