Obit - DEATH Of Michael BUBP Occurred Friday Night - Passed Away at His Home on North Street After an Illness with Bright's Disease.-Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon.- After an illness of six weeks duration with Bright's disease, Michael BUBP, an aged and highly respected resident of Wapakoneta, passed away at his home on Fourth street at 8 o'clock Friday evening. Mr. Bubp became ill several weeks ago, but was only bedfast for the past two weeks. He bravely fought the battle of life, but when the hand of Death beckoned him to his reward he was ready to go. Michael Bubp was born near Hamilton, Ohio, 81 years ago, but had been a resident of Wapakoneta for a number of years. He conducted a saw mill here for several years; but had been leading a retired life for some time. He was united in marriage to Mary WEILER, who with five children, Chas BUBP, of Cass street, Mrs. Peter R0ERBAUGH, of North street, Mrs. Israel BECHDOLT, of North street, and John BUBP, of North street, and Mrs. J. W. SNYDER, of Dayton , survive. The funeral services of Michael Bubp, whose death occurred at his home on North street, Friday evening, were held at the residence Sunday afternoon with Rev. J. H. Cuder officiating. The funeral was held under the anspices of Hamer Lodge, No. 167, F.&A.M., of which the deceased had been a member for the past 36 years. The services were largely attended by friends and relatives which showed the high esteem in which he had always been held.

"Schwopes" a German fraternal organization. It stood for Schwabischer Unterstuetzungs Verein. It's members came from the area of Germany called Swabia, which is near the Black Forest in the southwestern part of Germany.
