The Widow Armentrout arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on board the English ship "the Samuel" from Rotterdam on August 27, 1739 with her seven children: (Johannes 22, Anna Elizabeth 20, Johan Philip 18, Johan Frederick 16, Christopher 14, Heinrich 12 and George 10), and her probable brother Peter Hain. Her family stayed with her probable brother's family, George and Veronica Hain in Lancaster (now Berks), County, Pennsylvania, about 7-8 miles west of present day Reading, Pennsylvania. After 1754, the family sold their Pennsylvania land with son Johan Philip and three younger sons, moved to Augusta (later Rockingham) County, Virginia.
