Louis and Helen were married at the Cathedral by Rev. Conroy. Louis and Helen had six children, five sons and one daughter. In 1942, when he signed up for the draft for World War II, he lived at 1614 Crescent Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He worked at the Diamond Oil Company at 203 Third Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He signed his name, "C. L. Gladieux." The paperwork was made out for "Clem Louis Gladieux." Helen's obituary reads, "Helen L. Gladieux, 80, formerly of 2100 St. Mary's Ave., died at 9:12 a.m. Tuesday in a local nursing home. Mrs. Gladieux, a native of Ege, had lived most of her life in Fort Wayne. She retired in 1971 from the Wolf & Dessaur Department Store with 15 years of service. Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Sheire of Glendale, Ariz.; five sons, Bill and Tom, both of Fort Wayne, Gerald of St. Paul, Minn., Harold of Leesburg and Don of Flat Rock, N.C.; three brothers, Steve Schenher of Kendallville, Paul Schenher of Fort Wayne, and Robert Schenher of Churubusco; and five sisters, Gertrude Boba and Catherine Steinacker, both of Fort Wayne, Rose Bianski of Churubusco, Agnes Greim of LaOtto, and Clara Dafforn of Avilla. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in D. O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. in Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery."
