- Mary Cotton, d/o Seaborn Cotton m. (2) Samuel Partridge according to several secondary sources. The basis for this has yet to be identified, but her age at death is a good match. Samuel Partridge marries 1695 Mary Atwater, so Mary Cotton must have married first a Mr. Atwater. Many source indicate this first husband as John Atwater, but his first and only wife Mehitable survived him. Joshua Atwater had a wife Mary and died almost the same time as his brother John, so this must be her first husband.
