The death of Elizabeth, first wife of Joseph Finch, occurred prior to 1697 when Ruth Finch, Wife of Joseph Finch, Sr, was given grant to lands in the town of Greenwich. (she being the widow of John Mead who died May 12, 1693. Relationship is proven by a DEED from John Mead, SR listing his dead son's wife Ruth, and their four children John, Jonathan, Nathan, and Elizabeth.)
