Evidence that Joseph Achin and Julie Nolin of the St. Jean marriage record are the Joseph and Julia Asher who are found in Warren County from 1850 onward:

  • In the 1850 Glens Falls census (sheet 29), Joseph & Julia Aschan [sic], a. 26 & 29, with two children under 3, are recorded two dwellings away from Michael (a carpenter) & Esther Nolan, a. 56 & 53, with two daughters a. 21 & 14. Michael and Esther match the Michel and Esther named as Julie's parents in the marriage record.
  • In the record of her second marriage, Armenia ("Minnie") lists her parents as Joseph Asher and Julia Nolan.


Children Joseph Jr., David, Julia, and Armenia are found with Joseph and Julia in the 1850, 1855, 1860, and/or 1865 censuses.
