    The 10th day of October 1764
    On which day appeared personally John Winter, Labourer of the parish of Berkhampsted in the County of Hertford and Diocese of Lincoln and Being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist Alledged and made Oath as follows that he is of the Age of twenty one years and Intens to Marry with Ann Rickard of the Hamlet of Nettleden in the parish of Pitlestone in the County of Bucks being also of the age of Twenty one years
    Not knowing of believing any Lawfull Let or impediment by reason of any Precontract enter[e]d into before the 25th Day of March 1754 Consanguinity Affinity or any other Cause whatsoever to hinder the said Intended Marriage in the Church of Nettleden aforesaid in which parish of Pitlestone the said Ann Rickard hath had her Usual Abode for the space of four Weeks last past
    The said John Winter Labourer was Sworn the day and year first above written before me John Stirling Surrogate
