John D. Pattison, aged 71 years, of R. D. 2, died at his home,Saturday at 12:30 p.m., following a five month illness. Mr. Pattison was born in New Castle, October 14, 1877, son of Robert D. and Margaret McCreary Pattison. He resided here his life time, and for 43 years had been married to Katheryne E.Lightner Pattison, who survives. The deceased was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: C. Allen Pattison, Akron, O.; Dr. John D. Pattison, Jr., Toledo, O.; Milton A. Pattison, of R. D. 2; and brothers and sisters. Thomas M. Pattison, R. D. 2; R. H. Pattison, and Mrs. Nannie Shelenberger, of this city; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., from the Joseph B.Leyde mortuary, Highland at Winter, Dr. E. A. Crooks in charge. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary tonight 7 to 9 o'clock.

Mrs. John D. Pattison, 80, of 2228 W. State St., the former Katheryne Lightner, died at 6:15 a.m. today in the Jameson Memorial Hospital after a two week illness.

She was born in London, Mercer County, Pa., on Mat 30, 1882 to the late Henry F. and Nancy Baker Lightner. Her husband John D. Pattison, preceded her in death in 1949.

She was a member of Reformed Presbyterain Church and of the Scotland Union of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.

Surviving are three sons, C. Allen Pattison, of Venice, Fla., Dr. John D. Pattison of Marion, Ind., and Milton A. Pattison of New Castle; a sister: Mrs. Henrietta Ringer of Great Valley, N. Y.; a brother, J. B. Lightner of New Castle; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Leyde-Tanner Mortuary, Highland and Winter Aves., with Rev. Ronald Nickerson of the Reformed Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will recieve friends at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
