all.I was told that John Nix was a farmer and a preacher and had only one eye. Have you heard any of this?John Nix also has a son or a great grandson named NJ Nix he is still alive in Crossville Alabama

Nix, Robert Emmett, 69, Altoona, died yesterday at 9:07 p.m. in a local hospital after an extended illness.

  Survivors; are his wife, mrs Effie McWaters Nix, sister; Mrs. Lyle Gullion, Elba. Several nieces and nephews. Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at 2nd Baptist Church Altoona with the Rev. J.D. Brown and Daavid Helona Officiating.  Burial in Altoona/Walnut Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers; Bobby Nichols, Sammy Nichols, Mike Nichols, Randy Kent, Coswell McWalters, and Dale Foshe. Mr Nix was a natiave and resident of Etowah County most of his life. He was a member of 2nd 

Baptist Church of Altoona and a retired house painter. The body will remain at the residence and lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services.

If this is the same Albert Nix that appears in Gadsden on the 1930 Census there is some conflict with the age.
