In 1712, John Kenyon executed a deed in Rhode Island naming his brother-in-law, Thomas Mumford, Jun. So we know that in 1712 John Kenyon was married to a daughter of Thomas Mumford. But John Kenyon's wife's maiden name is never mentioned in the RI records. Capt. Howard N. Kenyon made an attempt to "jump the Atlantic" without any more documentation than finding a man named John Kenyon in England who was married to Anna and had a son named John and a daughter named Sarah. But in 1717 John Kenyon testified that he was living in Rhode Island when at the time John and Anna had two children baptized in England. All we know for certain about John Kenyon's wife or wives is that in 1712 he was married to a former Miss Mumford, given name unknown. We do not know that this lady was the mother of his children.
