It is believed that all of the above were born in Ireland

We have no record of the last four named sons or any of the daughters. It is probable that James, Thomas, and George settled in South Carolina, and that Jesse settled in Henry Co., Virginia

It is said that when John Heard came to America he landed at Philadelphia, then came down the coast to Charleston, SC, where he married Esther LaPierre in 1722. They had one son named Henry Heard. Apparently it was after this that John Heard moved to Hanover County, VA, where he settled and engaged in the production of tobacco.
