    [Note: There is no explanation for the two marriage records. The second record, taken from list submitted to the town clerk in 1716/17 would probably rely on church records, as is confirmed by Bailey's record cited below, which was taken from church records. Therefore, this is thought to be the actual marriage date. The other entry is probably a misrecording, and the date may possibly be the daughter Hannah's birth date, though we have no way of knowing. The speculation behind this being that there was some sort of copying error while recording several births and this marriage which all appear as a contiguous group on p. 17.]
