John's obituary reads, "Funeral services for John Finan, 74, of 3721 Logan avenue, who died of apoplexy at 12:50 a.m. yesterday at his home after an illness of six months, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the residence and at 9 a.m., at the St. Andrew's Catholic church with Rev. H. A. Hoerstman officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery at Payne, O. Born in Paulding county, O., Mr. Finan came here three years ago and was a member of St. Andrew's church. Surviving are the widow, Helen B.; five daughters, Mrs. Theodore Higgins and Mrs. C. E. Murphy, both of this city; Mary, Elnore and Dorothy Jean, all at home; two sons, John J. and Thomas E. Finan, both at home; a grandson; a brother, Thomas Finan of New Haven; and two sisters, Mrs. May Hyman of this city and Mrs. Clara Lamb of Payne, O. The body was taken to the Harper funeral home in New Haven." Finan, 70, of 2105 Wells St., died at 3:10 p.m. yesterday in the St. Joseph's Hospital where she had been a patient since May 26. She had been ill since December. Born in Antwerp, Ohio, she resided in Fort Wayne 30 years and was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. Surviving are two sons, John and Thomas, both of Fort Wayne; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Higgins of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Helen Murphy of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Mary Kintz and Mrs. Eleanor Erb, both of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Dorothy Walker, with whom Mrs. Finan made her home; two brothers, Paul Ankney of Burr Oak, Mich., and Fred Ankney of Trenton, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Macedo of Hayward, Calif., Mrs. Lucille Haas of Belle Air, Tex., Mrs. Agnes Rohyance of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Regina Rasbaugh of Sturgis, Mich.; six half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Greshaw of Coldwater, Mich., Mrs. Ben Anglemeyer and Mrs. Geneveive Palumbo, both of Elkhart, and Mrs. Katherine Kline, Mrs. Bertha Bowdish and Miss Maxine Ankney, all of Sturgis, Mich.; 26 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mungovan & Sons Mortuary after 2 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home and at 11 a.m. in Precious Blood Church, Rev. Leonard H. Fullenkamp officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Payne, Ohio. The Rosary Society will have services at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home."
