Notes for JESSE MARTIN ROBINSON: Jesse Martin was born in Sartoria, Nebraska, now a ghost town. It was located eight miles west of Pleasanton, Nebraska along the South Loup River. He had made plans to marry Mattie Willard. They had their wedding pictures taken and before they got married, Mattie became sick and passed away. Jesse then courted and married Mattie's sister, Emily Alice. After they married, they moved to Miller, Nebraska where he operated a drayline for two years and farmed in different vicinities around Miller. They moved to Kearney, Nebraska in 1937 and he was a custodian at the Kearney State Teachers College until retirement. Their older children attended grade school at the Lone Star and Trappers Grove schools when they farmed in these communities. All the children attended elementary school in Miller. Jesse died from a cerebral vascular accident.
