[edit] Jean Baptist MelocheJean Baptist Meloche, son of Marie Jeanne Caron and Pierre Meloche, was born on February 19, 1741 on the NE Bank of the Detroit River. Jean married Marie Louise Robert on November 11, 1759 i Detroit. I a Census taken in 1782, the family was enumerated in Detroit. In 1807 they were in the Post at Fort Wayne (now Indiana). Jean Baptiste died and was buried on September 16, 1820 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. Mary Francoise Meloche and Louis B. Bourie were married 13 October 1798 in St Anne's Church, Detroit, Michigan. In the Thursday January 10, 1828 the Journal of the House (US House of Representatives) the following was recorded: “On the motion of Mr. Smith of Indiana, Resolved, That the Committee on Indian Affair be instructed to inquire into the expediency of allowing to Frances Felix, late Frances Boure, widow of the late Louis Boure, of Territory of Michigan, deceased, a compensation for a quantity of valuable personal property of said Louis Boure, taken and carried away from him in his life time, by Indians at war with the United States; and that the papers relative to said claim, be referred to that committee.
