New Castle News, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, Friday, 16 October 1908, p3 McKIM - HAWKINS' HOME WEDDING A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kyle of North Beaver township, Thursday when their sister, Mrs. Mary McKim became the bride of James S. Hawkins of Union township. The ceremony took place on the veranda and Rev. J.S. Dice of Bethel church, assisted by Rev. Laughner of Moravia officiated. Miss Bessie Duncan of Mt. Jackson, was the only guest from a distance.
New Castle News, New Castle, Lawrence Co, PA, 21 July 1919, p3 Birthday Party in Pattison Home On Saturday evening a number of relatives and friends of M/M RH Pattison of Brooklyn Avenue motored to their home from the country in celebration of the birthday of Mr. Pattison. They arrived at the Pattison home about 8 PM and a most enjoyable evening was spent in social pursuits, games, and music. In serving delicious refreshments Mrs. Pattison was assisted by Misses Mary Pattison and Helen White and Mrs. JD Pattison. Near the close of the evening the honor guest was presented with a handsome gift. The presentation speech was made by William Pattison aged 82Y an uncle of the guest of honor. Those in attendance were: William Pattison, Mrs. DC Pattison, M/M John Pattison and 3 children, M/M Clark Pattison, M/M WH Pattison, Miss Mary Pattison, M/M FL Pattison and son Harry, M/M J Hawkins and daughter Ellen, M/M Harry White and daughter Helen, M/M Edward Jones and son Charles of Pittsburgh.
New Castle News , New Castle, Lawrence Co, PA, 14 April 1925 James Sharp Hawkins, aged 65 years, died at his home on the Youngstown Road, Union township, Tuesday morning at 12:15 after a brief illness. Mr. Hawkins had been a resident of this county for about twenty years. Besides his widow, Mary McKim Hawkins he leaves one daughter, Ellen Elizabeth and one son. Frank W., of Pittsburgh. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. William S. Pattison of this city and a half sister, Mrs. Rebecca Jones of Pittsburgh and a half brother, John H. Williams of Pottsville, PA. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian church. Funeral service will take place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from his home. Burial in Bethel Cemetery. |
