Family:Henry Young and Elizabeth McConnell (1)

Henry served in the Civil War three years. They had 11 children. (1)Ranson Grant Young (1867-1947)m. Lulu who died at the age of 24 (1894-1918). They are buried in the Young cemetery. They had two children: one son and Augusta Young that m. Frank Wineinger. (2)Ira P. Young (1869-1923) and he m. in 1893 to Cora Mills (1874-1958). Cora married a second time to Bill Redd. Cora was the daughter of Elis and Naomi Hukill Miles. They lived in Lakeport CA. Naomi died in 1895. Ira built the house where Roy Jones owned in 1945. Ira also owned a quarter section in Perkins SD. They are buried in the Young cemetery and they had five children. Gerta died at 5 mo., Vera Young m. Thomas Cunningham and they had two children, Billie and a girl; Thomas was a blacksmith in Decatur Iowa. (3)Bernard Young and he m. in CA (4)Tersa Young (1875-1958) m. 1893 to Frank Poland (1872-1951). They had 11 children. (5) Joseph Warren Young b. 1871, d. 1914, bur. Young cem., m. Mamie Jane, b. 1873 d. 1907. (6)Judith Ellen Young (1877) and m. J. Robert Snyder, who was a barber in Grand River. They had four children. (7)S.L. Young and he lived at Athol, SD. (8)Minnie Young (1882) m. Fred M. Bone of Grand River. no children. (9)Della Young m. Harve Hukill of Jackson Co. MO. (10)Chloe Young was a bookkeeper at the Ford Plant in Detroit MI. (11)Pearl Young (1891-1892).
