Notes for HENRY JAMES RAUT: OBITUARY FROM THE "CAMDEN ADVANCE JOURNAL", newspaper. Thur., May 27, 1915 A GOOD CITIZEN GONE McCONNELLSVILLE, May 27 -- Henry J. Raut died at his home in this village on Saturday after an illness of five days with pneumonia. Mr Raut was born in January, 1844, on the Raut homestead, about 1 1/2 miles from Fish Creek Landing, in the town of Verona. On Sept. 15, 1872, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Suits. Shortly after his marriage, Mr. Raut removed to this village, where he had since made his home. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, Mrs. Mary Raut; three sons, Elmer, who lives at home; James of North Bay and Fred of Culver, Ore., and one daughter, Mrs. D. P. Ross of Rome; also two grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Augustus, of this place and two half-brothers, David and Edward, and two half-sisters, Mrs. G. Wendall and Mrs L. Cleveland of Vienna. Mr Raut was industrious and will be missed by all. He leaves a host of friends and neigbors whose sympathy goes out to those left behind in this bereavement. The funeral was largely attended at the M. E. church yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock. He was buried in the local cemetery, over which he had been sexton for twenty-five years.
