In the 1910 federal census, Harry was a teacher in the public schools in Paulding County, Ohio. By 1913, he and his family were living in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Harry was a barber. He lived at 2523 Carolina in Fort Wayne. When he registered for the draft for World War I in 1917 in Delphos, Ohio, he was described as tall and of medium build with blue eyes and dark hair. In the 1920 federal census, he and his family were again living in Delphos, Ohio, in Allen County. He was a barber and owned his own shop. The family was living a 405 West Third Street in Delphos. In 1942, he again registered for the draft for World War II and at that time was living at 416 West Fourth Street in Delphos, Ohio. At this time he owned Dunlap Furniture Company in Middlepoint, Ohio.

Harry and Etta are both buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, Ohio.
