From 1792 Hans Johannsen owned a farm in the eastern part of Tating. That part of the village is named Medehop. The farm still exists (although it is not the same building as in 1792). Today's (1999) address of that farm is Medehop 7, Tating. Hans Johannsen is listed in the 1803 Census of Tating, family No. 146: Hans Johannsen, aged 48, "Hufner" (owner of a hide of land, farmer) Martha Albertz, aged 39, his wife Peter Johannsen, aged ?? & Catharina Johannsen, aged 8 & Margareta Johannsen aged 8, their children According to the fire insurance records, the house and the barn was burnt on 6 July 1809 and were built again in the same year. On 3 May 1810 the house was burnt again. |
