    In the year 1875, 22 May, have appeared before us, undersigned, Official of the Burgerlijke Stand of the Gemeente Ferwerderadeel, Province Friesland,
    Gerrit Zwart, 25 years old, born in Ferwerd, farmhand, living in Ferwerd, adult son of Sijtse Piebes Zwart, gardener, and Fetje Gerrits van der Meulen, spouses, living in Ferwerd, on the one side and Dirkje Johannes de Vries, 24 years old, born in Hallum, maid, living in Ferwerd, adult daughter of Johannes Jaspers de Vries and Wijtske Sijes Wiersma, then spouses, the father deceased, the mother laborer, living in Marrum, on the other side.

    We have asked them for the intended marriage to take place, including the marriage banns on Sundays the 9th and 16th of May of this year, haven taken place without interruption.

    And they have provided:

    First: their certificates of birth,

    Second: the certificate of death for the father of the bride.
    The parents of the groom and the mother of the bride, hereby present, have stated consent to this marriage.
    After which, in public we have asked them whether they will take one another for husband and wife and faithfully conduct the duties which the law imposes upon the state of marriage, to which each answers by consent, thus, we in the name of the Law state that

    Gerrit Zwart and

    Dirkje Johannes de Vries

    are bound by matrimony.

    In the presence of Thomas Oeges Wijnstra, 47 years old, gardener, living in Ferwerd, uncle by marriage to the groom; David Sijbrens Helpstra, 51 years old, gardener, living in Nijkerk, uncle by marriage to the bride; Wijbe Reiding, 70 years old, secretary staff, and Klaas Jans Feenstra, 61 years old, secretary clerk, latter living in Ferwerd, to parties strange.

    And by law we put this act, which, after reading, by the groom, the bride, witnesses, and we signed; having the parents of the groom and the mother of the bride not signed, declaring not have learned to write.
