Birthdates as given here were all found on the 1901 census when all ten were at home. There may have been one or two more, and the dates may not all be reliable. Isabella was found on the 1871 census. Birth registrations have not been found, even for Adeline.

The family lived on Concession 10 of Burgess North Township in Lanark County, Ontario, close to other sons of brothers John and George Wilson. The community, which straddled the border with Bathurst Township, was known as Scotch Line.
