George Oller, Jr.

George Oller, Jr., the son of Prudence Logsdon and George Oller was born in 1792 in Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky.

George Oller, Jr. and Nancy Tash Marriage

George first married Nancy Tash about 1815/1817 [S11,S5,S27,N58]. Nancy Tash was born somewhere around 1795/1804 [S8].

In the Territorial Census of 1818, prior to becoming a State, George and Nancy are enumerated in Union County, Illinois Territory [S15,N56].

In the 1820 and 1830 US Census, George and Nancy are enumerated in Alexander County, Illinois. [S5,S2,N57]. They had six children. Nancy died between 1836/1837 probably in Alexander County. [S8,S28].

George Oller, Jr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Graham Marriage

George, Jr. then married Mrs. Elizabeth Graham on April 23, 1837 in Alexander County. [S5,S2]. Mrs. Elizabeth (Surname?) [S5] was born in 1810 [S28,N66]. Elizabeth had previously married a Mr. Graham. Nothing more is known about this previous husband or the marriage.

George and Elizabeth are enumerated in the US Census of 1840 in Alexander County. [S28,N67]

They had the following children:

(1) A Female Oller

A daughter was born between 1837 and 1840 [S10,N68]. This daughter is enumerated in the US Census of 1840 in Alexander County. [S2]

(2) Silas C. Oller

Silas C. OLLER [S10,S28,S27,N69] was born on April 2, 1838 most likely in Alexander County, Illinois.[S10,S28,S27,N70]. He was enumerated with his family in the US Census of 1840 in Alexander County. [S2]

Silas died on April 1, 1857 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri [S28,S27,N71]. At only 19, it is said that Silas owed back taxes when he died. [S27]. He is buried in Old Loreimer Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.[S27] A memorial for him, with a photo of the cemetery, is located on the Find-A-Grave website

(3) Mathew Oller

Matthew Oller [S10,N72] was born in 1843 in Alexander County.[S10,S2] Mathew was enumerated with his family on the US Census of 1850 in Alexander County.[S2].

Mathew served between 1861 and 1865 in 18th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Union Army, during the American Civil War [S29,S30,S31].


Mathew died on October 20, 1865 in the Post Hospital, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. [S2,S29,S30]

George Oller, Jr. Dies

George, Jr. died about 1844/1848 in Alexander County, Illinois. [S5,S20,S2,N55]. It is not known when Elizabeth died.
