The premier researcher on this and other information on the OLLER and OLLAR family is Betty Ollar Mozisek. She and her son Butch Dobis have been researching the family for many years. Betty is the granddaughter of Nancy Delia Elgada and Rodney Thomas Ollar (1872-1958).

An early researcher, Verta Lee Oller, wife of Frank Leonard Oller(1914-2009) contributed much to one line of the family. Frank was the son of Lillie Mae Brown and George Washington Oller(1880-?) ), who was the son of Martha Caroline Childress and James Franklin Oller (1848-1891).

Another early researcher was Irene Martin Constant of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Irene is the daughter of Pernie Oller (1901-1975) a daughter of Lillie Napier and George B. Oller (1871-1917.

An active genealogist, Gary Oller, hosts a website. Gary is the grandson of and George Washington Oller(1880-?) and Lillie Mae Brown.

Another active genealogist is Krys Oller who has posted a large file of information on the Oller lineage of George Oller, Sr.. I should caution that some of this information is not in agreement with other researchers.

This researcher, B.Holmes, is the grandson of Nancy Emeline Oller (1871-1937) who was the daughter of Martha Caroline Childress and James Franklin Oller (1848-1891)

George Oller, Sr. and Prudence Logsdon Marriage

George Oller married Prudence Logsdon, daughter of Sarah McQueen and Edward Logsdon, about 1772 or 1773 in Colonial Virginia. Their children are: Leonard born 1774, Elizabeth Betsy born 1776, Edward born 1782, John born 1784, Honor born 1786, Patience born 1788, Matthew born 1791, George, Jr. born 1792, Sarah born 1793, and Nancy born 1796.

(1) Leonard Oller

Leonard Oller was born about 1774 in Frederick County, Maryland. Leonard married Hannah Johnson on December 19, 1796 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. They were married by William Taylor. Consent was given by John and Polly Johnston. Hannah was born about 1776 in Virginia. Leonard and Hannah had seven known children: James Franklin born 1797, Arthur born 1799, Leonard, Jr. born 1800, John born 1801, George born 1803, Millie Ann born about 1816, and Andrew Jackson Oller born September 11, 1821. Leonard died in September 1850 in Edmonson County, Kentucky.

(2) Elizabeth Betsy Oller

Elizabeth Betsy Oller was born in 1776 in Frederick County, Maryland. Elizabeth married John D. Durbin, Jr. on April 16, 1792 in Madison County, Kentucky Territory. John Durbin, the son of Ann Logsdon and John Durbin, was born in 1776 in Maryland. It is not know if Ann Logsdon is related to Prudence and Lydia Logsdon. John and Elizabeth had fifteen children: Nancy born about 1812, Mary born between 1785 and 1792, Simon born between 1785 and 1792, Patience born 1793, Jacob born 1795, Thomas born about 1799, Lucy born about 1802, John Z. born May 4, 1804, Matthew born 1808, Elizabeth born 1810, Edward Edwin born 1812, Prudence born about 1814, George born 1816, Josephus born January 11, 1818, and Leonard Durbin born March 3, 1820.John died in 1831 in Palmer, Christian County, Illinois and is buried in the old Durbin Cemetery which is now known as St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bear Creek Township, Christian County. Elizabeth died in 1848 also in Christian County, Illinois.

(3) Dr. Edward D. Oller

Dr. Edward Oller was born in 1782 in Yohogania County, Virginia. Edward married Lydia Logsdon on March 27, 1806 in Hardin County Kentucky. Lydia, the daughter of Margaret Logue and William Logsdon, was born about 1793 and was the first cousin once removed of her mother-in-law. Edward and Lydia had nine children: James Logsdon born 1808, Edward, Jr. born 1810, Susan Elizabeth born 1812, Johnson born 1813, Jacob born 1816, John William (Dr.) born 1819, Lydia born 1820, George born 1822 and Miles Thomas Oller, Sr. born 1824. Edward died on January 23, 1847 in Alexander County, Illinois. Lydia is also said to have died on January 23, 1847 in Alexander County, Illinois.

(4) John Oller

John Oller was born in 1784 in Kentucky. John married first a Miss Marshall. They had one child: Judge James B. Oller born in April 23, 1799. John, in his second marriage, married Elizabeth Clendenal on March 4, 1802 in Hardin County, Kentucky. John and Elizabeth had nine children: a daughter born in 1804, Elizabeth “Betsy” born June 6, 1806, a daughter born 1808, Nancy born February 1810, Sarah Celia born 1812, Jacob born 1815, Martha born 1816, George W. born 1817 and Melinda Oller born August 12, 1822. Elizabeth died before 1850 in Edmonson Co, Kentucky. John died after May 1854 in Edmonson County, Kentucky.

(5) Honor Oller

Honor Oller was born in 1786 in Yohogania Country, Virginia. Honor married David Edward Johnson on March 04, 1802 in Hardin County, Kentucky. David was born 1785. Honor and David had seven children: Polly born 1802, William born in 1804, a child born in 1805, a child born in 1810, Ranson born in 1814, and another child born in 1815. Honor died before March 1823 in Alexander County, Illinois. David and died 1838 in Alexander Co, IL.

(6) Patience Oller

Patience Oller was born 1788 in Yohogania Country, Virginia. Patience married John Painter, Sr. on April 28, 1799 in Hardin County, Kentucky. John, the son of Joseph Painter, Sr., was born in 1780. Patience and John had eleven children: Honor born 1800, Joseph born 1802, Nathaniel born 1805, Anna born in 1807, John Jr. born 1809, Daniel born 1814, Solomon born 1816, Margaret “Peggy” born 1818, Squire born 1820, Nancy born 1823, and Mary “Polly” Painter born on February 5, 1825. John died 1829 in Edmonson County, Kentucky. Patience died on July 6, 1854 in Butler County, Kentucky.

(7) Matthew Oller

Matthew Oller was born in 1791 in Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky. Matthew married Sarah Ann McKenzie about 1811 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Sarah, daughter of Allen McKinsey was born on April 1789. Matthew and Sarah had nine children: James M. born 1812, Silas D. born 1815, Delaney born April 12, 1818, Francis born on 1820, Eliza Jane born 1823, a son born 1825, a daughter born 1827, Asenath Lucinda born January 5, 1832, and Elijah McKenzie Oller born September 22, 1839. Sarah died on May 14, 1850 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Matthew died in 1839 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

(8) George Oller, Jr.

George Oller, Jr. was born in 1792 in Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky. George married first Nancy Tash in 1816 in Kentucky. Nancy, daughter of Mary and Lewis Tash, was born in 1794. Nancy and George, Jr. had six children: a son born 1815, Leonard born 1819, Mary Ann born 1823, a daughter born 1825, James born 1825, and John Oller born 1836. Nancy Tash Oller died about 1836, perhaps in childbirth of John Oller.

With a large family, George soon married for a second time. He married a widow, Elizabeth Greyham (or Graham), on April 9, 1837 in Alexander Co, IL. Her maiden name is not known at this time. Elizabeth was born 1810 in Ohio. Elizabeth and George, Jr. had three known children: Silas C. born April 2, 1838, a daughter born before 1840, and Matthew Oller born in 1843. George, Jr. died between 1844 and 1848 in Alexander County, Illinois. Elizabeth Graham Oller died after 1840.

(9) Sarah Oller

Sarah Oller was born in 1793 in Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky. Sarah married William Turpin on October 13, 1809 in Barren County, Kentucky. William was born 1791. Sarah and William had eight children: David born 1811, Laura born 1817, Nelson born 1825, Andrew born 1827, John A. born 1828, Nathan born 1829, and Margaret Turpin born 1830. William Turpin died April 30, 1841 in Alexander County, Illinois. Sarah Oller Turpin died after 1855 in Illinois.

(10) Nancy Oller

Nancy Oller was born in 1796 in Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky. Nancy married a widower, James Randol, before 1815 in Johnson County, Illinois. James was born in 1774 in Sussex Co, New Jersey. Nancy and James had nine children: Abraham born June 9, 1815, Delaney born 1818, Marzilla Ellen born 1821, John Larkin born 1823, William Harvey born 1824, Missouri Caroline born July 9, 1826, Temperance born 1828, Clara Rebecca born 1831, and Eliza Jane born 1835. . James Randol died on November 17, 1859 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Nancy Oller Randol died before January 20, 1865 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

Prudence and George Oller Latter Years

George Oller died before 23 March 1823 in Alexander County, Illinois where his will was probated on that date. Prudence Oller survived George and died after 1824.
