Theodora Daugs Weds George Montgomery

The St. Paul's Lutheran church of Monona, was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday afternoon, June 14th, at four o'clock, when Miss Theodora Daugs, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A. Daugs, became the bride of George Montgomery, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Montgomery.

Pink and white peonies formed an attractive background at the altar and down the center aisle.

Rev. Daugs, father of the bride, offered prayer and spoke on I John 3, 16, pointing out two essentials of happiness in married life.

The bride wore a beautiful gown of white satin, her veil was of embroidered net. She carried a shower bouquet of Baby Breath and Pink Roses. The wedding march, by Mendelssohn, was played by Ruth Daugs, sister of the bride, heralded the approach of the bridal couple.

Two solos, one by Mrs. H. Pape, "I Love You Truly," and "O, Promise Me," by Palmer Daugs, brother of the bride, were sung.

The marriage vows were made in accordance with the one ring ritual. While the vows were being taken, the organist softly played "Prayer," by Tritant.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony to the immediate relatives. Here the decorations were in yellow and white.

The newly weds left Sunday afternoon for Charles City where they will make their home.

Pre-Nuptial Shower

Friends of Theodora Daugs gathered at her home last Thursday evening and with the weather man assisting, gave her a complete shower. A unique program was arranged, in the form of a Matrimonial pageant. Mrs. F. Daugs acting as the bride and Mrs. D. Schneider as the groom, with all the attendants.

Various musical numbers were given by Gladys Kaiser, Janice Wiethorn, and Viola Miller, and a very appropriate reading by Elmira Kaiser. A picnic lunch was served.
