In 1841 census, George is a lead ore smelter, age 45, living in Couse Hole, Allendale, Northumberland, with wife Liddy (40), son William (11), and Elizabeth (8), as well as Ann Gibson (13) (younger sister of Liddy?).

In 1851 census, George (57) is a lead ore roaster, widowed, living in Tedham, Allendale, Northumberland, with son William (20) and daughter Elizabeth (18).

He does not appear in the 1861 or 1871 census, so has most likely died before 1861. By 1861, son William has married Elizabeth Mitchell, and they have a son and two daughters, still living in Allendale. It is not known what happened to daughter Elizabeth.
