Francis and Julia were married by Rev. Algeier. Francis was 28 years old, and Julia was 27.

They had one daughter.

Francis' obituary reads, "Francis Bernard Roy, 49, of R. R. No. 2, New Haven, died suddenly Friday noon at the home of Frank Henry, three miles east of New Haven on U. S. highway 30, where he had gone during the morning to help with farm work. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon and of post 47, American Legion. Surviving are the wife, Julia; a daughter, Miss Audrey Roy, at home; his father, Louis Roy, of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Clarence Roy of Monroeville, Leo Roy of Fort Wayne and Allen Roy of White Pigeon, Mich.; and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Martin of Michigan, Mrs. Clarence Sorgen of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Louis Porter and Mrs. Hilda Byrd, both of White Pigeon, and Mrs. Guy Nelson of Shipshewana. The body was taken to the Ternet funeral home at New Haven and may be viewed there after 1 o'clock this afternoon until Sunday morning at 10 o'clock when it will be taken to the home of John Ryan near New Haven. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Ryan residence and at 9 o'clock at St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon, Rev. Joseph A. Hession officiating. Julia's obituary reads, "Mrs. Julia Ann Roy, 52, lifelong resident of Jefferson Township, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at her home, R. R. 2, New Haven. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church at Besancon and its Rosary Society. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Audrey Jean Roy, at home; two sisters, Sr. Wilfreda, New Ulm, Minn., and Miss Agnes Ryan, Fort Wayne; and two brothers, Leonard N. and Lawrence Ryan, Jefferson Township. Friends may call at the Ternet Funeral Home at New Haven after 7 p.m. today. Services will be held there at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at the church at 9 a.m., the Rev. Henry Emeling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary Society will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Tuesday 31 May 1949, pg. 18]

They were both buried in the Besancon Cemetery at St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
