When Ernest registered for the draft for World War I, he was living at R. #4 in New Haven, Indiana. He was 32 years old. He was a farmer working for himself. His next of kin was his wife, Militine Lomont. He was described as of medium height and slender build with blue eyes and light brown hair.

In 1920, A. Ernest, 33, and S. Militine, 33, were living in Jefferson Township in Allen County, Indiana, with their children, A. William, 4 3/12, and S. Muriel, 5.

When Ernest registered for the draft for World War II, he was living at 502 East Jefferson in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was 56 years old. He listed as next of kin his daughter, Muriel Keirns of 512 East Jefferson. He was working for himself.

Ernest's obituary reads, "ERNEST A. LOMONT, 62, RETIRED GROCER, DIES. Ernest A. Lomont, 62, of 512 East Jefferson Street, died at 5:45 p.m. yesterday at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he had been a patient five weeks. He had been ill several years. A native of Jefferson Townsip, Mr. Lomont had lived here for the last 28 years and was a retired groceryman, having operated a grocery at 512 East Jefferson Street. Prior to going into the grocery business, he worked as a mail carrier. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Jule Schone Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Nicholas Allgeier will officate and burial will be in Besancon Catholic Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Surviving are the wife, Mililine; a son, William, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Kerins, Fort Wayne; three brothers, Gus, Jefferson Township, and Clem and Clarence, both of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Morey, New Haven, Mrs. Ida Maier, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Rosalie Burns, Fort Wayne, and five grandchildren." He is buried at Besancon Cemetery at St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
