Alphonse was a farmer.

Victoria's obituary reads, "Mrs. Victoria Lomont, wife of Alphonse Lomont, a prominent farmer of Jefferson township, died Tuesday evening at the St. Joseph hospital, of tumors, at the age of forty-eight. The deceased leaves nine children. The body will be taken to the family residence, and the funeral will be held Thursday morning from the Catholic church at Besancon."
