Phelps: 'Ephraim, Simsbury, s. of Edward, m. 11 [3:659 inserts 'or 21'] May 1691, Mary Jaggers, and d. [3:659 inserts '26 Nov. by rec. but, in Stiles, 739, 20 Oct.'] 1697.'

The identification of his father is inconsistent with other information in this source. While there are 2 Edwards listed (of Newbury and of Andover), and Edward of Newbury would have been old enough to be his father, he is not listed under Edward's children (although it is noted that Edward of Newbury had children other than the ones listed). However, Ephraim b. 1 Nov. 1663 is listed under Samuel. It is, of course, possible that there were 2 Ephraim's - the son of Samuel and the son of Edward who married Mary Jaggers.
