- ↑ Source:Mayflower Descendant, p. 5:55, "Plymouth, Mass., Vital Records", gives birth of eldest child: "The Children of Elkanah Watson & Marsey Watson his Wife/John born the beginning of october 1678" so marriage probably about 1677 in same town.
- Source:Mayflower Descendant, p. 5:55, "Plymouth, Mass., Vital Records", includes a daughter Elizabeth at the end of the list of children in this family with no date. However, the editor's footnote says this line was written in with a "modern" hand. Given that the mother Mercy had a daughter Elizabeth in her next marriage, it seems probable that it was this child, Person:Elizabeth Freeman (29), that the line refers to and not a child of Elkanah Watson. If it was a child of Elkanah Watson, the birth would have occurred between July 1689 (9 months after Mary Watson was born) and Dec 1690 (9 months after Elkanah died), and would have died in infancy since it is unlikely the mother would have had two living daughters named Elizabeth.
