Taken from Source:Mayflower Descendant, p. 33:105, Deeds of Plymouth County, MA, 22:12, dated 22 Feb 1726/7: "John Bacon jun'r & Elizabeth Bacon his Wife both of the Town & County of Barnstable" to "Our Brother John Watson of the Town & County of Ply ... Esq'r" a 36th part of Clarkes island "that Mercy Freeman the Mother of the s'd Watson & the Mother of the s'd Elizabeth Bacon was in her Lifetime the trul & lawfull Owner of the Sixth Part of the aboves'd Island". Editor's note says that widow Mercy Watson bought 1/6 of Clark's Island from Samuel Lucas (deed 1:112), subsequently married John Freeman to become Mercy Freeman, and left it to her natural children, namely, John Watson (double share as oldest son); and daughters Phebe, Mercy, and Mary (all by first husband Elkanah Watson); and daughter Elizabeth (Freeman) Bacon by second husband John Freeman.
