--GaleB 08:16, 24 January 2008 (EST)Elgate lived the quiet life. He remained on the property he inherited from his father and did not do any buying/selling of personal property or land. Were it not for his will he would be almost invisible. There has been much speculation regarding the surname of his wife, Naomi, but, to date, nothing has been found that links her to anyone...parents, or siblings. Elgate joined the American Revolution, along with other family members: The following Driskills were in the Wicomico Battalion during the Am. Rev., listed as of 15 July 1780: in Capt. Davis's Co., John and Adam Driskill; in Capt. Horsey's Co., Moses, Moses Sr., George, Shadrack, and Elgate Driskill. (Clement & Wright, MD Militia in Rev. War, pp. 255, 257).
