David was one of the founders of the first church of Bedford, and his name and that of his wife Hannah occur frequently in its records. They had eight children, beginning with Hannah, born May 28 1725, followed by David 1727, Jonathan 1730, Mary 1731, Eleazer 1734, Sarah 1736, Lydia 1738, and Elizabeth who was born shortly before the death of the mother, Sept. 5, 1744. All of these births were recorded in Bedford.

June 4 David Taylor and [Ruth] Davis
[Note: article cited notes the brackets imply "Ruth" was added by compiler, Clarence S. Brigham, when the transcript was made, and suggests it is an erroneous assumption based on the name of his second wife who he married in 1745, Ruth Jones, when this is meant to be his first wife, who was clearly named Hannah in births of several children in the Bedford records from 1725-1741 (p. 52-53), and in her death record of 1744.]
