The census information is confusing as it would look to an observer that Sarah was the wife of Hosea, but he was a bachelor. We believe that David Bell Hawkins' wife is this Sarah.

On 16 Mar 1863 he bought property from David and Sarah Hawkins and Hosea Hawkins for $830; this deed was recorded on 17 Feb 1869; this was 14 acres.
