[Daniel's] second wife, whom he married 6th mo, 2, 1666, was Anna, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Learned) Ewer. [Note: this date, which appears to be a literal translation from a Quaker record, would translate to 2 Aug 1666, not to June.]

  4.   Anna's birth is not recorded, leading some to question her inclusion in the family of Thomas and Sarah (Learned) Ewer. It has been suggested this is Hannah, the widow of Thomas Ewer, Jr., since Hannah and Anna were often used interchangeably in colonial times. But the widow Hannah Ewer was still a widow when she swore to Thomas, Jr.'s inventory on 31 May 1667 as "Hannah the Relect of the aforsaid Thomas Ewer". Hence, the Anna Ewer who married Daniel Wing on 2 Jun 1666 was not this widow. There is also no evidence that she was in any way related to Thomas Ewer, except of course, for her name, and since this seems to be the only Ewer family in Massachusetts at the time and she fits well into his family, it is an natural assumption. [The name written as Ure, Eue, Ewe, Ewell, Eyre and Ewer and sometimes even Ayer were seen all over New England and any one of these families could been related to her. Henry Eue was one of the first settlers of Sandwich (1638) in fact could be a candidate. Henry Ewell of Barnstable arrived 1634 on the Hercules by 1643. John Eue in Hartford. In Portsmouth, NH just a few hours by sailboat Benjamin, John, Simon and Thomas Eyre - all of whom have not yet been studied. And if we open but the scope to Ayer? Many more. A careful examination of primary sources might be fruitful]
