DRURY— SOWTER
The Church of Epjphany, Lansdowne, was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding, when Clarence, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Drury, of "Lynbourne,' Lansdowne, was married to Nellie, youngest daughter of the late Mr. A. Sowter and Mrs. Sowter, of "Elimatta,' Langley Vale. Canon Ritchie officiated. The Bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. G. Sowter, and was charmingly attired in ivory French morocain with silver lace goddets and georgette court train. beaded in silver, and wearing a beautiful veil loaned by Mrs. W. T. Sowter, of Petersham. Miss Evelyn Fritz, in dawn crepe de chene and crin. hat, was maid of honour. The bouquets were of white and palest pink sweet peas, Kathie Pearson and Maisie Sowter nieces of the bride, in sky crepe de chene, carried baskets of roses and sweet peas, wore gold armlets, gifts of the bride groom, as were also a beautiful fur stole to the bride and set of xylonite toiletware to the maid of honor. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. A. Drury. During the ceremony Mrs.Harvey Gordon sang 'Beloved, it is Morn,' and Mrs. Platt played the Wedding March. At 'Elimatta' Mrs. Sowter, in black morocain ensemble, entertain- ed 90 guests. The tables were very artistically arranged by Nurse Sowter. Canon Ritchie presided. The toasts and speeches were very interesting to the many friends of two such well known families. The lovely wedding cake was the gift of Mrs. Cross. Among the many beautiful presents was greatly admired a cut glass water set from church parishioners, carvers and rose bowl from Sunday School, and Bible from councillors of church where the bride is organist. Prior to the wedding the girl friends at Langley Vale arranged a kitchen tea. The going-away dress was of French pleated crepe romain, with champagne hat and shoes. The happy couple left by evening train for Port Macquarie and Grafton.
