Excepted from page 19, Portsmouth Times, Monday, August 19, 1974 "Pioneers, Christopher C. and Sophia Moore Koch were among original settlers in the area later named Wheelersburg. The couple came to the U.S. from Schwerine, Germany, about 1828 and settled on Dogwood Ridge. One of their seven children was George Koch, who bought what now is Koch Hardware from William Reif in 1916. George Koch's daughter, Mrs. Grace Koch Schindler, lives in Wheelersburg at 8071 Gallia Pike." Image Gallery
