Charles and Mary were married in 1887S3. They had five children, Walter, Charlie, Louise, Tony, Edna. All their children were born in Thorton, IllinoisS1,S2, which at the time was a rural farming community south of Chicago, but has since become suburban.
Sometime between 1903 and 1910 after the birth of youngest daughter Edna, the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mary's father Carl is living in their household in 1910 so he must have gone with them after having become a widowerS2.
