When Clarence registered for the draft for World War I, he was living at 1003 Harmar Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he was married with 3 children. He was a clerk at Moellering Bros. & Williams in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was described as of short height and slender build with grey eyes and brown hair.

Clarence and Nora had five children, 3 daughters and 2 sons.

Clarence's obituary reads, "Clarence (Heiny) Gladieux, Sr., 57, of 1012 East Washington Bouldevard, an employee of Himelstein Brothers, Inc. for the last 15 years, died at 12:15 p.m. yesterday at St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of 10 weeks. He had been a hospital patient one week. Mr. Gladieux was a native of Zulu and moved to Fort Wayne with his parents when a child. He was educated in the Cathedral Brothers School, and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gladieux, the former a deputy sheriff during the administration of Sheriff Albert Melching. Surviving are the wife, Nora; three daughters, Mrs. Decima McElwaine, Mrs. Aylene Speice and Mrs. Gladys Olinski, all of this city; two sons, Clarence, Jr. and Kenneth W. Gladieux; a brother, Eugene Gladieux of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Myers, Mrs. Thomas Madden and Mrs. Celeste Swinehart, all of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Larry Shiebley of Van Wert, O.; and three grandchildren. The body was taken to the Jule Schone Funeral Home and may be viewed there beginning this evening until the time of the funeral, Tuesday morning. The hour of the funeral will be announced later." Nora resided at 1012 East Washington Blvd. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1949 and 1950.

Nora's obituary reads, "Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the D. O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home for Mrs. Nora Katherine Gladieux, 72, or 1844 Broadway, who died at 4:20 a.m. yesterday in Parkview Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient four days. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. Survivors include a son, Clarence, Fort Wayne; two daughters, Mrs. Jay Speice and Mrs. Walter Olinski, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Henry Klingenberger, Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Verna Tegeder, Fort Wayne; two stepsisters, Mrs. Marie Ritter and Mrs. Stella Watterson, both of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Friday 10 January 1964, pg. 2A]

They are both buried in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
