    Oct. 1967.

An Oct. 10 wedding ceremony took place in the First Methodist Church parsonage with the Rev. Ivan C. Bys officiating. Exchanging vows were Irma Leaming and Carlton McLuen, attended by the Rev. and Mrs. Ambrose Moses of Des Moines. The bride was attired in a street-length dress of chartreuse blue chiffon. Her accessories included a single-strand pearl necklace that had been her aunt's, and a corsage of pink and white carnations. Her matron of Honor, Mrs. Moses, chose a floral rose sari and a pink carnation corsage. The bridgroom and his attendant wore dark business suits with white carnation boutonnieres. Following the ceremony, the wedding party drove to the Pattee Hotel, where a reception was held. A double - tiered wedding cake, bridal ice cream and punch were enjoyed by the newly-married couple and their friends. After a honeymoon trip that took them through the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas, through the eastern edge of Oklahoma and Kansas and homeward through southwestern Iowa, they are at home at 2012 First in Perry.
