Arthur and Helen were married by Rev. Oestering. Arthur was 26 years old and Helen was 23. Arthur was an assembler. It was the first marriage for both of them. Arthur wrote his name "Vanderley" in 1918 and "Venderley" in 1942. When he registered for the draft for World War II, he was living at 2312 Johns Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He gave his wife Helen as next of kin. He was working at Joslyn Manufacturing & Supply Company at 1701 McKinly Street in Fort Wayne. Arthur and Helen had three sons. ARTHUR L. VENDERLEY. Services for Arthur L. Venderley, 80, 6425 S. Harrison St. will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mungovan & Sons South Chapel and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Veterans Hospital. Mr. Venderley, a native of Jefferson Township, was a lifelong resident of Allen County. Surviving are his wife, Helen D.; three sons, Donald A., Richard L. and Gerald P., Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Meek and Mrs. Bertha Donovan, Fort Wayne; and three brothers, Floyd, Ralph and Manfred, all of Fort Wayne. Calling will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Helen's obituary reads, "HELEN D. VENDERLY, 93, of Fort Wayne died yesterday in Saint Anne Home. The Fort Wayne native was the widow of Arthur, who died in 1977, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. Surviving are sons, Donald A., Richard L. and Gerald, all of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., and 10 a.m. in the church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, with a vigil at 7:30 p.m." [Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, Thursday 10 June 1993, pg. 8A] They are both buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
