Paul D. Cook, 89, of Parksville died Sunday in Danville. He was the widower of Virginia Crow Cook. Born April 13, 1919, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Laura Honaker Cook. A retired employee of the State of Kentucky, Mr. Cook had work for the Kentucky State Hospital. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of Parksville Baptist Church. Mr. Cook was an avid fisherman and hunter, an all-around outdoor sportsman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; one son, Paul Dennis Cook Jr.; and one stepson, Charles Allen Hilbert. Survivors include two daughters, Carroll (Del) Cox of Garrard County and Kathy (Charlie) Lister of Stanford; and one son, James (Brenda) Cook of Parksville; one sister, Zella Jones of Florida; and one brother, Ernie Cook of West Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Terry Orcutt, with burial in Parksville Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Marion County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Scotty Cook, Michael Brown, Jason Wofford, Greg Wilkerson, Roger Gilpin and Anthony Barrow. Visiting hours are 5-8 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the American Cancer Society .
