Amos V. Sharp married Ellen Dial on the 15th day of March 1854. She passed away less than a year after the wedding. It is not known where she is buried.

Amos and Ellen had NO children. After Ellen's death, Amos moved from Ohio to Michigan sometime between Ellen's death 1855 and his marriage to Laura Davis in Bronson, Branch, MI on March 6, 1856. The next record of Amos and Laura was 1860 US Census Michigan, Newaygo, Ashland where it shows Amos, Laura and a daughter Virginia who was 9 months old. He continued to live in Newaygo for the rest of his life. There has been some confusion between two men named Amos Sharp both born in Ohio in the year 1832. Amos V. Sharp who was married to Ellen and then to Laura and Amos Sharp who moved from Ohio to Mecosta County Michigan.  Amos V Sharp's parents were John Sharp and Betsey Harris. Amos and Laura had 4 children Adlaska, Virginia, Sarah & Jennie. The other Amos from Mecosta County was married to Martha Pelton and had two children by that marriage the then married Cordelia Harriet Finney and had 11 more children. He lived the rest of his life in Mecosta County Michigan.

    I Hereby Certify That in the Township of Colebrook on the fifteenth day of March A.D. 1854, Amos Sharp and Ellen Dial, were legally joined in Marriage, by me, a Justice of the Peace in said County, Given under my hand, at Colebrook this 15th day of March A.D. 1854.
