WeRelate:Suggestions/Improvements for "What links here" on place pages

Some changes were made to the presentation of "What links here" a couple of years ago, but there were some items that were never addressed.

There is currently a maximum of 1500 items in a list. This includes those in all categories: Template, Source, Place, Person, Family. When a place is large the maximum is often reached part way through the list of Persons.
(1) Would it be possible to extend the number of items to infinite (or at least 10,000)?
(2) Could the list be separated into a series of multiple-choice categories so that we don't have to go through all the Sources and Places before we get to the Persons and Families?

Hi. Doesn't the recently-implemented ability to filter by namespace address this? You can select to see just Persons and then later just Families, etc.--DataAnalyst 15:22, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

(3) There is one problem with (2): Persons and Families that are linked to "redirected" Places come up under that alternate place rather than with the rest of persons and families. It is possible to rectify this by adding the main placename before a pipe on the person page, but this does not help the less technically-minded user who will think that some of his/her family members are missing.

What Links Here is standard Wikimedia functionality. While we can make some enhancements, I think this aspect is something we probably don't want to mess around with. What might make more sense is to automatically update pages to use the correct placename. I can see myself looking at that some time in the future.--DataAnalyst 15:22, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
