WeRelate:Suggestions/Gedcom uploader surname checks

I know the gedcom uploader checks for spouses with the same surname, but it doesn't appear to check for the following: Peter Moore and Margaret Lewis Moore - the surname of the husband is Moore, and the surname of the wife is listed as (Lewis) Moore. Titling her page as Margaret Lewis Moore is not correct and these situations should be tagged as warnings. --Jennifer (JBS66) 13:25, 19 December 2011 (EST)

I agree that it would be helpful if it were flagged. In this case, the program is doing what it thinks is correct, because the text string "Moore" and "(Lewis) Moore" are not the same. My current method of catching this is to scan all incoming Person and Family lists and to correct any mistakes in the Name fields before they enter. It isn't difficult to spot unusual name entries, but I wish it were easier to scroll up and down the lists in the review program. --cos1776 19:17, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
