My grandfather was called william charles beesley married to olive smith. he was also in the royal navy from 1900 under the name charles beesley.

Hi Mandy, We were in touch a few years ago, about the Bests from Belturbet. i've just come across your work on this website which is very informative. Since we last spoke I've found out a few bits more which I'm sure you would find interesting, including newspaper reports of the jewel 'heist'and details of his father's illness and death.
